Minimum requirements

Solve urgent and exploratory problems that arise in classroom instructional technology, such as “How can I”, “Would it be possible”, and “I need”.

10%: Train teaching assistants (TAs) and instructors in the use of instructional technologies and coordinate technology implementation by the TAs.

30%: Identify, develop, and manage promising new instructional technologies in consultation with staff and instructors and on your own. Examples include long distance and online learning strategies geared toward teaching chemistry; interactive homework, quizzes, guided inquiries, and surveys; interactive chat sessions; and animations and simulations. Independently develop content for these technologies in the areas of general and organic chemistry. Oversee efforts to systematize these technologies across diverse large and small size chemistry classes. Evaluate the success of these new technologies using rigorous methods. Work with groups on campus to integrate these technologies.

25%: Coordinate and communicate with staff and faculty across campus to share new instructional technologies, and participate in grant proposal writing where appropriate. These efforts include WisCEL, DoIT Academic Technology, L&S Learning Support Services, and efforts in Engineering and Nursing and other departments and facilities.

Security Administration:

Qualified Candidate Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

Required: Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience. Experience in the use of digitization equipment, digitization standards, and the management of a digital repository. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite 5 or higher, media editing software, and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of cataloging/metadata standards and applications. Familiarity with copyright concerns. Experience with Mac OS X and Windows operating systems, and knowledge of multimedia file formats and procedures.
