full time FULL-TIME DIRECTOR OF WEB COMMUNICATIONS:

at Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill, MA

FULL-TIME DIRECTOR OF WEB COMMUNICATIONS: (Marketing and Communications) The anticipated start date is February 2nd, 2009. (Non-unit Professional Position.)

This position reports to the Assistant Vice President of Marketing Communications. Hands-on leader wanted. After years of managing the web through part-time staff, the College has created this full-time, director-level position to provide centralized and strategic management for our expanding online presence.

As a one person department, you will need to balance your time effectively between the execution of daily production tasks and championing your strategic vision for the growth of online communications at the College. You will have a solid understanding of UX and UI principles, be able to communicate the importance of these principles to stakeholders, and have the conviction to defend these principles in the quest for the best online solutions.

This is not a “techie” position. Although you must possess a technical understanding of the web and be able to hand-code valid html, you are not expected to be a programmer or css guru.
