Web Writer/Editor

Individual needed to contribute content and creativity to a dynamic website that highlights the mission and life of Transylvania University and informs and engages constituent audiences and the public at large. Individual selected will play a lead role in the creation of an overall web content strategy and in the development of original content for the website; collaborate with the communications team to translate the richness and vitality of this amazing university onto the web; write and edit content for transy.edu that is accurate, well-crafted, and consistent with university style standards and brand strategy; interact with faculty and staff to format, update, and produce relevant and timely web content.
The position requires a bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, English, or a related field and at least one year of employment-based experience writing/editing web content. Prefer candidates who are highly organized, meticulous about detail, and demonstrate strong multi-tasking capabilities without sacrificing creativity and quality. Also prefer candidates with prior higher education experience and experience developing and integrating multimedia content and social media technologies. The ability to be flexible and to work independently and collaboratively on multiple projects and tasks is essential. Photography, videotaping, and video editing skills would be a plus. Some weekend and weekend hours may be required. Candidates should be prepared to produce examples of their work.
