Job Title: Coordinator, Web Production and Strategy

The USF School of Law is seeking an experienced, hands-on web developer to provide technical support and management of the law school’s website. The web coordinator is responsible for day-to-day updates and application development to continue to enhance the user experience. We are seeking the right individual—ready to leave their mark—with a passion for developing the School of Law site to as an exemplary conduit for information exchange among internal and external constituencies.

The Web Coordinator reports to the Director of Communications and collaborates with diverse positions throughout the School of Law including deans, faculty, senior administrators, staff, students, alumni, and the University, as well as external constituencies.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Serves as law school’s primary web developer responsible for creating, formatting, and posting content utilizing the USF web content management system (Ektron).
  • Consults with clients to gather information about needs, objectives, functions, features, as well as input and output requirements.
  • Develops and maintains operational plans outlining steps and timetables for developing additional functionality.
  • Provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions regarding the website, working closely with the Information Technology Systems and Web Services departments at the School of Law and the University.
  • Working with other staff, the web coordinator will research, test, implement, and manage web-based applications to bolster current law school web functionality and improve internal and external coordination of complex tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, as well as a minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a web developer within a Content Management System is required.

Technical skills required include:

  • 3-5 years experience in database-driven web development and administration
  • Experience with web development within a Content Management System environment
  • Extensive experience with HTML5, XML, CSS 3, JavaScript including jQuery, MySQL, PHP, XSLT, and ASP.NET
  • Experience developing online forms, interfaces, and reports
  • Experience developing documentation and user guides in layman terms
  • Knowledge of and interest in emerging web trends and technologies
  • Understanding of graphic standards and branding. Experience with Adobe PhotoShop and Illustrator
  • Preferred experience using Microsoft technologies including ASP.NET framework, Visual Basic or C#, XML, and SQL Server
  • Knowledge of website development best practices including tagging, SEO

techniques and complying with Section 508 accessibility guidelines

General skills required include:

  • Strong leadership, organizational, multi-tasking and project management skills in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to balance development with support
  • A highly motivated self-starter with demonstrated commitment to excellence and ownership of projects
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to think strategically, including synthesizing large volumes of data into concise, well-presented recommendations
  • Must be solution-oriented and possess proven problem solving skills
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills, including grammar, punctuation and proof reading; strong presentation and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate about technical matters in layman’s terms as well as clearly articulate thoughts, vision and direction.
  • Outstanding collaboration skills, with proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders across business lines to accomplish shared goals and manage expectations.
  • Ability to travel and work modified shifts when necessary.
