full time Web Designer

at Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, TN

Position Summary:
Provide web leadership, design and support for the entire Freed-Hardeman University campus through the creation and development of the school’s primary site, special project sites, email marketing, and any other online or digital marketing communications.

Essential Functions:
1. Maintain the university website, including keeping copy, images and other content current, while working to create new areas of content where needed.
2. Responsible for designing all online communications and maintaining a consistency across the University’s online presence, including all websites, emails and other online communications.
3. Strong understanding of graphic design practices and software, primarily Adobe Creative Suite.
4. Create and develop websites for all divisions and departments. This also includes the development of specialty web projects and all web project management.
5. Develop strategies to grow and develop the University’s online brand through digital campaigns and other marketing initiatives.
6. Regularly responsible for copywriting and copy editing, editing front-end markup, including primarily HTML, CSS, and Javascript or other libraries.
7. Provide technical support, employee website training and stay current with all emerging technologies, best practices, web standards, and other changing or developing opportunities online.
8. Responsible for creating and maintaining the school’s social media presence. Knowledge of social media possibilities, best practices, and implementation is essential, including maintenance and appearance of these areas is required.
9. Develop and enforce web policies and procedures to maintain consistency, quality, and professionalism across all of the University’s online presence.

Requirements:
BA/BS degree in communication, graphic design and/or other related field with one to three years of graphics design/web development experience. This individual must possess excellent communication, relationship-building skills, extensive computer skills, be highly organized, detail oriented and self-motivated.
