Princeton University's Office of Information Technology seeks an experienced and highly motivated web developer to join its Web Development Services group. WDS provides comprehensive design, development and technical support services across multiple platforms for University websites, and is expanding its services to address a demand for mobile applications. WDS is highly collaborative, with close working relationships between developers, designers, and service stakeholders.
This position is responsible for all aspects of development and support, including requirements definition, development, testing and deployment, maintenance and upkeep, using a combination of coding and productivity tools.
Responsibilities:
Develop websites and applications
Provide user support
Devise solutions for adapting content and presentation to mobile devices
Align development and support with service goals
Follow project management methods and technologies
Foster positive relationships with colleagues and customers
Essential Qualifications:
Three years hands-on web development experience
Demonstrated knowledge of mobile application development
Objective-C or other object-oriented language experience
XML, XSL experience
(X)HTML, JavaScript and CSS experience
Code that demonstrates adherence to W3C standards
Development using web services technologies
RDBMS, such as MySQL or Oracle, experience
In-depth knowledge of existing and upcoming web standards
Ability to balance development with support
Effective communication skills for a diverse constituency
Ability to work in an open, shared environment
Preferred Qualifications:
MySQL, PHP experience
Basic system administration skills
Professional experience in Higher Education
Customer service experience
Bachelor's Degree Required
