Online Communications and Web Coordinator
at Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois
Duties:
The Online Communications and Web Coordinator supports the efforts of the Associate Director of Online and Electronic Communications by coordinating all e-communications activities, assisting in the maintenance of the Benedictine University Web site, working closely with writers/editors, media relations staff, graphic designers, photographers, administrators and IT staff in the design, organization, navigation, development and maintenance of the Benedictine University Web site with strategic emphasis on the use as an integrated management and marketing tool. The Online Communications and Web Coordinator contributes to and assists in the efforts of the Office of Marketing and Communications as it develops publications, media relations, marketing, Internet, advertising, recruitment, retention and fundraising programs that are designed to enhance the image and visibility of Benedictine University.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Web Design or Information Technology preferred. Experience: One to three years of public relations/ marketing/communications/ information technology experience. Major job responsibilities include overseeing all e-communications including creating all e-communications for various departments, planning, scheduling, tracking and analyzing; daily Web site maintenance ensuring accuracy and timeliness of information. Experience in the full life cycle of Web sites.
Specific skills: Master level skill in Dreamweaver and ability to hand-code, using include files, tables and CSS; High level of skill in Photoshop. Solid understanding and experience in HTML/ASP/ PHP, content management systems, javascript, database experience, high level of computer literacy. Troubleshooting skills are essential. Standard office business personal computer, Microsoft Office software, knowledge of Illustrator, Acrobat software, InDesign or QuarkXPress and digital camera/camcorder operation a plus.
