Web Development Manager
at Indiana University East in Richmond, Indiana
Indiana University East, the fastest growing campus in the IU system, is seeking an experienced web developer to join our award winning marketing team and lead the design, implementation and maintenance of IU East's digital presence on the internet. This position will contribute to strategic planning to meet goals relating to the primary website (iue.edu), presence in social media, and internal websites/intranets/databases. This position will conduct all phases of the web development cycle, including defining customer requirements and system interfaces, formulating and defining application scopes and objectives, assessing available technologies and developing official web pages and applications. This position is a senior member of the marketing staff and will mentor junior team members.
Qualifications:
-Bachelors degree in CS, IS, or related area required.
-One to three years experience in developing large-scale websites, with emphasis on usability, accessibility, and compliance with W3C standards; additional skills in effective website management, implementation, development, and organization.
-Strong knowledge of web-based languages and technologies, including HTML/CSS, SQL, PHP, XML/XSLT, Javascript/AJAX. Knowledge of Microsoft .NET or ActionScript /Flex a plus.
-Familiarity with Microsoft IIS-based web servers a plus.
-Knowledge of relational databases including Microsoft Transact-SQL, MySQL, and Oracle.
-Proficient in web-development suite of software including Dreamweaver, Contribute, and Photoshop.
-Working knowledge of composition, page layout, art and presentation packages such as InDesign, Flash, and Acrobat LiveCycle Designer.
-Familiarity with contemporary and emerging social media applications, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and YouTube, for use in communication with current and prospective students. Experience with these services in a Higher Ed environment preferable.
-Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
This is a full time position with the Indiana University benefit program which includes health and dental insurance, paid retirement plan, tuition benefits, a generous time off plan, and other voluntary benefit programs.
