Web Developer

Responsible for technical and functional design, development, integration, maintenance and optimization of existing and future websites, applications and systems. Leveraging expertise and knowledge of a variety of programs and applications, Web 2.0 functionality and other rich Internet applications, purpose of position is to advance digital opportunities to achieve strategic goals and objectives of the University.
Duties & Responsibilities:
--Ensures effective technical and functional design and development and provides ongoing support of University websites, applications and systems: requirement definition, coding, testing/debugging, documenting, monitoring, deployment.
--Exhibits expertise in and knowledge of XSL, HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, ASP.NET. Adheres to W3C standards-based development guidelines.
--Manages and implements all phases of development – websites and digital marketing – including discovery, user need analysis, design and review, programming, launch and development of solutions for system deficiencies.
--Identifies, develops and integrates Web 2.0 and rich Internet applications: social networking/media, blogs, RSS feeds, online, video, audio, podcasts, mobile marketing “texting”, email and customer engagement and consumer-generated media.
--Collaborates with IT, vendor-partners and internet team members to optimize systems and security features and to integrate architectures/navigations, content/design, and administrative computing systems.
--Uses knowledge and experience with databases, in general, and SQL and Access, specifically to ensure integration withdatabases and data flow.
--Teams with marketing team members and vendor-partners to uncover and leverage new and emerging on-line trends, SEO and communications opportunities.
--Performs efficient website development and refinement both within and outside of existing content management system (Datatel Active Campus).
--Partners to optimize site and campaign measurement and analytics to advance consumer communications.
--Participates in training of internal stakeholders to allow controlled access and updates to website.
--Prioritizes multiple tasks, creates schedules and meets deadlines.
--Performs other job-related duties or responsibilities as assigned, whether or not specifically mentioned in this job description.
Minimum Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in related field and 3-5 years relevant experience, Requires expertise and direct experience in: Microsoft IIS web server platform, HTML-XML, XSL, CSS, JavaScript, ASP.net. Requires knowledge and proficiency in: SQL, Access and other M/S suite, Flash, Dreamweaver and content management systems, Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal team and external partners, demonstrate the ability to collaborate and achieve results with a variety of individuals, ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and opportunities in common terms to customers, success in prioritizing, scheduling and meeting deadlines on time and on budget. Capability to learn video editing software; investigate and learn future software version launches, adapting to changes in technology.
