Web Developer/Analyst
at Mount Mercy College in Iowa
Reporting to the Vice President for Marketing and Communications the Web Developer/Analyst is a member of the Office of Marketing and Communications and will be responsible for the technical development and maintenance of the College’s external web site, www.mtmercy.edu. The primary role of this position is support client and server-side programming and database development for the website.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or an equivalent combination of education & experience.
• Professional experience building and/or maintaining websites
• Demonstrated knowledge of lightweight database design and implementation using MS SQL or MySQL
• Demonstrated extensive knowledge of Web technologies
• Familiarity with web design best practices
• Knowledge of web hosting (LAMP environment)
• Familiarity with graphic design for web use
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and find creative solutions
• Ability to build consensus and communicate with non-technical staff
• Demonstrated ability to write and edit for public audience
• Working knowledge of Photoshop and Flash
• Knowledge of web design tools including CSS layout and positioning, JavaScript, PHP, mySQL, HTML, XHTML and jQuery
• Working knowledge of Drupal or other open source CMS
• Working knowledge of Wordpress
• Knowledge of Google Analytics
