Multimedia and Social Media Specialist
at Dickinson College (Anywhere)
Dickinson College is seeking a Multimedia and Social Media Specialist reporting to the Director of Electronic Communication.
Responsibilities:
Support the office of communication’s mission by promoting the college through various electronic media, including the college Web site, online videos, e-mail and social media. Shoot and edit video of campus events and prepare other multimedia features such as Flash animations for marketing and communications activities to engage alumni, prospective students and other audiences. Encourage and support the creation of user-generated content (photos, video, blogs) to be used on the college Web site and contribute to the college’s presence on social media sites such as Facebook. Help support the college Web site by creating and editing content and assisting other content editors on campus.
Qualifications:
Requires relevant experience with video/audio production, including filming/recording, editing and distributing online. Must have design skills and the ability to create graphics and manipulate images for video and Web display. Requires experience in Web design and knowledge of Web standards such as HTML and CSS. Requires experience with software for audio and video editing, Web development, and design (including Photoshop and Flash). Must be very familiar with social media sites and trends. Must have attention to detail, good oral and writing skills, ability to organize and plan projects and ability to work creatively and collaboratively. Education background should include a college degree in communications, design, film, video or related field.
