The Office of Public Affairs is the primary communications office for the College to a wide variety of constituencies including internal audiences (i.e. students, faculty, staff, Board of Trustees, parents) and external audiences (i.e. community friends, the media, donors, legislators, prospective students, prospective employees). Office activities include advertising, publications, media relations, legislative relations, community relations, photography and videography. The Senior Web Developer will work in an exciting, fast-paced and challenging environment that often involves juggling and coordinating a variety of projects and requests.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Web Developer II is housed in the Office of Public Affairs and reports to the Assistant Director of Web Communications. This individual will utilize coding skills to maintain and develop the GGC website and electronic communications to promote innovative growth in compliance with College branding and ADA accessibility standards. This individual is responsible for creating a variety of tools and features to enhance the functionality, navigation, programming and design of the website.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Develops and maintains the GGC website as an interactive, database driven website using the most current and efficient programming technologies.
· Creates interactive forms such as registrations and surveys for the website.
· Communicates and enforces coding standards.
· Ensures timeliness, functionality and accuracy of the website.
· Ensures Section 508 compliance of the site.
· Determines and recommends tools and resources necessary for web operations and digital communications.
· Researches and plans for changing user requirements and technology advances, and remains current on trends in educational technology.
· Evaluates system deficiencies and implements effective solutions
· Assists the Assistant Director in the development of website strategies and best practices.
· Collaborates with technical and non-technical staff as needed.
· Communicates and collaborates closely with the Assistant Director of Web Communications.
· Communicates and collaborates with members of the Web Team on projects to ensure high-quality, innovation and best practices.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in computer science, information systems, or a related technology field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Three or more years experience in web development, building sites from front-end web interfaces to back-end databases.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

· Proficient in HTML/XHTML, CSS, PHP, Javascript and MySQL.
· Proficient with a variety of Internet browser applications.
· Demonstrated skills in web-ready graphics, animations, PDFs and multimedia files.
· Experience with website development, programming, indexing, scripting and site maintenance.
· Knowledge of Section 508 standards and compliance.
· Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver, Photoshop and MS Office.
· Experience in content management systems and processes.
· Excellent organizational, communication, time management and multi-tasking skills with attention to details.
· Ability to solve problems and think strategically.
· Must be a quick learner and possess the ability to update skills on a continual basis.
· Ability to work well independently and as a member of a cross-functional team of technical and non-technical staff.
· Leadership skills, ability to solve problems and make decisions.

Preferred Qualifications: · Understanding of browser specific compatibility issues.
· Understanding of various design methodologies and object oriented environments.
