Web & New Media Manager

Knox College seeks a Web & New Media Manager in the Web and New Media Services, a division of the Computer Center, reporting to Associate Director of Web and New Media Services.
Supervises: New Media Specialist & Student Workers. Primary responsibilities include developing and maintaining Web content – including text, audio and images – for the College's Web site; assisting in the development of new media communications strategies; directing Web content development, including writing, editing, and publishing; enforcing established Web standards, assessing Web strategies for alignment with institutional goals; training new content authors; serving as first point of contact for content developers, and supervising New Media Specialist and student workers.
Qualifications: Position requires a bachelor's degree, preferably in writing or journalism, and a minimum of three to five years of experience in communications that includes copy writing, layout and design, and Web publishing. A good command of Web development tools—HTML editors, Web accessibility testing, and content management—is essential. Ideal candidate will also have a strong eye for detail, be able to work autonomously as well as a team member, and possess outstanding editing skills. A good sense of design and familiarity with graphics programs such as Photoshop or Illustrator, as well as general familiarity with current Web standards and best practices is also desired.
