Applications Developer / Analyst, Sr.

The application developer must have strong technical skills, the ability and desire to stay abreast of new technologies, and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of customers (faculty, staff, and students). Applications development experience must include design and development of enterprise scale applications across a variety of platforms (including mobile). The preferred candidate will have a working knowledge of Linux and Windows servers. The preferred candidate will have:
-Programming experience with Cold Fusion, PhP, Perl, for enterprise-wide deployments
-Extensive experience creating web content using HTML, CSS, Javascript, and jQuery
-Experience with development environments such as Eclipse or Dreamweaver
-Experience generating and parsing XML
-Excellent problem solving skills
-Experience with the dotCMS environment, including building templates and structures, creating data pulls in Velocity and Lucene
-Experience with MySQL, writing SQL queries, and writing SQL scripts
-Experience with Google Analytics and web statistics
-Experience with Photoshop or other high-end Photo editing application
-Experience with Linux and Windows operating system.
-Knowledge of networking and system security standards and best practices
-Experience using Adobe Contribute
-Experience with version control systems such as Subversion or CVS
-Experience using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
-The ability to multitask projects and get the job done.
-Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop easy to use solutions and interfaces that meet the needs of the customers
-The ability to work with various levels of employees and management.
-Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Job Responsibilities:
Responsibilities includes, but not limited to:
-Develop, implement, maintain Oxford College Cold Fusion applications
-Maintain the Oxford College website
-Act as a backup for the system administrator
-Implement new web technologies as appropriate
-Build templates for new websites
-Build and maintain databases to support college data needs
-Create scripts to migrate database changes
-Managing test, development and production of all web servers including hardware and software.
-Track and resolve problems using Incident Management system.
-Focuses on the organization and quality of the web environment for continuous improvement.
-Assist in troubleshooting problems that spans application, network, security, etc.
-Ensure adherence to existing and emerging standards.
-Daily system/application maintenance and monitoring.
-Maintain documentation and contribute to the ongoing development of new standards.
-Responsible for contribution and adherence to standards that ensure the integrity and security of the enterprise's web resources.
-Responsible for providing backend support for the development, testing and acceptance environments for new projects that rely on web implementations.
-Work with team members to create and implement web infrastructure strategies.
-Document all procedures.
-Remain current and knowledgeable of industry technological advances, their uses and their readiness for production deployment
-Other duties as assigned
