full time Assistant Director of Web Content

Applications are invited for the position of Assistant Director of Web Content. This position reports to the Director of Web Marketing/Communications for the University.

The Assistant Director of Web Content will join the growing Web Marketing/Communications team to create and manage content for the University’s web presence. This includes the writing and copyediting of spotlight stories, coordination of the events calendar, management of interns embedded within the various colleges that generate additional content and additional web content tasks.

A Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Public Relations or closely related discipline is required. Experience in an academic environment is preferred. Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal, writing, copyediting, communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds. Preferred candidates will have the following additional skills: photo editing in Adobe Photoshop and the ability to shoot photos and video to accompany web stories

Some local, regional and national travel is required. There are also occasional commitments before 8 a.m. and after 5 p.m. and on weekends both off and on campus. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a non-ADA compliant building. Salary is commensurate with skills and experience.
