Degree and area of specialization:
Bachelor's degree in Instuctional Technology or Computer Science required.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Successful candidates will be proficient in the development of front-end applications utilizing Microsoft .NET technologies and familiarity with the development of MS SQL database structures. A demonstrated knowledge of C# .NET and VB .NET and experience integrating one or more databases such as MS SQL is essential. Experience with XHTML, CSS and section 508 web accessibility. Candidates must have a proven ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment.

Well qualified candidates will have experience with the Visual Studio programming environment, interest in integrating custom Dot.Net code with an off-the-shelf CMS system and Microsoft Dynamics CRM. An understanding of ASP classic, PHP, Javascript and Flash is desirable. Familiarity with Share Point Services and other intranet portal technologies, and authentication procedures such as MS Active Directory and Pubcookie is a plus.

Principal duties:
The successful applicant will be responsible for a variety of academic web and database application projects in a collaborative, educational setting. Our web presence is a critical factor in promoting the Wisconsin School of Business as well as our web related research and teaching. This position will work with faculty and staff in developing and enhancing current Content Management Systems (CMS) application technology. The position will work as part of the Web and New Media team consisting of designers, editors, architects, and other programmers at the Wisconsin School of Business and reports to the lead Web Developer. This position will also work with faculty and staff on marketing the School of Business and its programs to external constituencies - prospective students, parents, alumni, peer institutions and their faculty.
