full time FINANCIAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS ANALYST -Financial Information Systems

Financial Information Systems (FIS) provides PeopleSoft, personal computer, network, security, web, and other technical assistance to the Vice President of Finance, Financial Services, Purchasing, Finance & Planning, and Treasury areas in the Finance Division. FIS is responsible for providing access to financial data, maintaining the integrity of financial data, securing information, protecting assets, managing projects, designing processes, developing IT standards, establishing audit controls, implementing and maintaining systems, analyzing data, and implementing policies. FIS is dedicated to delivering the highest level of technical support and technology services to enhance organizational and individual performance.

Working closely with Finance personnel, University Information Technology, and members of the user community, the Financial Information Systems Analysts key responsibilities include:

* Maintaining security for the PeopleSoft Financials application * Maintaining the report production process for the PeopleSoft Financials application * Developing and conducting user acceptance testing of complex system bugs, upgrades and enhancements * Monitoring batch processing of production jobs and interfaces, identifying and resolving transaction errors and providing direction for corrections as needed * Utilizing the latest applications to communicate and document new or existing processes * Providing backup support to the Financial Information Systems Coordinator * Working with the Manager of FIS to ensure the timely completion of projects

Job Requirements

Basic Requirements:

* Bachelor’s degree * Minimum of three (3) years of related experience * Knowledge of client server and desktop hardware and software, Microsoft Office (an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required), network infrastructure and web technologies * Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), strong problem solving, customer service, and detail oriented skills * The ability to effectively communicate/work with people of all levels of technical ability, as well as the ability to simplify technical matters and to explain them to non-technical people * Must possess a high degree of integrity/ethics and be able to deal with confidential and sensitive material and to adhere to University Responsible Use and Business Conduct policies, department guidelines/policies, and all applicable laws and regulations at all times * The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously is essential; must be capable of working cooperatively, independently, or as part of a team * Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs repeatedly * Ability to work with project groups and other technical support staff resolving computer problems; some exposure to desktop security and standards

Preferred Qualifications:A Bachelors degree in Management Information Systems or other IT related field is preferred. Experience with: Microsoft Excel VBA Programming (Creating Macros); Business Intelligence Reporting Tools such as PeopleSoft Query, PeopleSoft nVision or Crystal; Oracle/PeopleSoft Financials version 8.4 or higher; and web development experience using software such as Macromedia, Thinwire, or Fatwire is a plus. The ability to translate the users information needs using desktop technology, web tools, reports and/or databases, and to quality control, analyze and troubleshoot security, server, and database issues/problems is highly desirable. Experience dealing with confidential and sensitive material and adhering to Policies such as Responsible User and Business Conduct policies, department guidelines/policies, and all applicable laws and regulations is highly preferred.

Special Work Schedule Requirements:Typical schedule for this position is Monday Friday, 9 5. In order to support the production operation, the Financial Information Systems Analyst may work in the evenings and weekends occasionally.
