The Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) of The Johns Hopkins University is a prestigious graduate school of international relations in Washington, D.C. Currently, we offer an excellent career opportunity in our dynamic Communications Office.

In this key leadership role, you will develop and manage the content and design of an extensive enterprise-level Web site and affiliated sites, Intranet site, related Web technology, multimedia, social media and Web server arrangements. We will look to you to provide overall Web-related guidance and training to all academic, administrative, research center offices and student organizations at SAIS. Position involves acting as Web expert liaison to Johns Hopkins Information Technology (JHIT) at main Baltimore campus, as well as outside Web vendors and consultants. Position manages other Communications staff on Web and multimedia/social media projects. As needed, you will assist the Director of Communications with media calls, special events, publicity and production of publications.

To qualify, you must have a BA/BS degree in Communications, Public Affairs, Interactive Journalism, Information Technology or a related field; Webmaster and Photoshop training and/or certification; at least 3-5 years in Web site development/management and Internet best practices; and experience in communications functions, such as multimedia development/production and social media. Experience in media relations, events management and print publications also is desired. Position requires proficiency in CSS, HTML, enterprise-level content management systems, Dreamweaver and digital video/audio editing software (Sound Forge & Adobe Premiere preferred). You must be able to work independently, meet deadlines, train colleagues, multitask, prioritize projects, and interact effectively with individuals at all levels and from diverse cultures, and possess strong communications and organizational skills.
