Join The University of Texas Medical School at Houston's award-winning Office of Communications team. This team is responsible for designing and updating dozens of pages that highlight the Medical School's mission of education, research, and patient care. This group also leads the Medical School's efforts into social media. Position will assist members of the design team handling the production and output of a variety of Web and print materials. The selected candidate also will have the opportunity to work on original designs.
Candidate must be proficient in Dreamweaver, have a good grasp of Web 2.0 concepts, and be familiar with content management systems. Must have working knowledge of JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, PHP/MySQL, keep up with latest Web trends as well as be open to continual learning. Candidate should have a strong foundation in concept development and layout, comfort handling multiple projects, and excellent communication skills. Must be proficient in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Must possess a knowledge of the printing process and be able to prepare art files for press.
