Position Summary:
Millikin University's Marketing & Media Relations Office is seeking a University Web Developer. The University Web Developer is responsible for developing and updating the university’s principal website, www.millikin.edu, and providing guidance and support to the rest of the University community regarding web-based initiatives. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in building a wide variety of websites, from content type and field creation to integrating common contributed modules, to building custom modules using PHP. Additionally, candidates must have a working knowledge of ASP.Net, HTML, CSS and JavaScript (specifically jQuery) and have experience with various database platforms and web servers.

Primary Responsibilities:
1. Serves as the university’s primary website administrator.
2. Develops and updates web pages for the university website.
3. Leads, trains, and supports a network of university content developers in updating the university website.
4. Implements and reinforces industry best practices for the University website.
5. Provides technical support to developers in the Office of Information Technology.
6. Ensures reliable and secure web services to the University.

Minimum Position Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or a related field
• Three years of professional web development experience
• Adept use of ASP.Net, HTML/XHTML, CSS, JavaScript or jQuery, SQL and other standard web programming technologies
• Knowledge of the web development process and web user patterns
• Experience dealing with multiple-tier deployment (dev, test, production)
• Experience developing for mobile platforms (iPhone, Android, Windows, etc.)
• A working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Web and SQL Servers
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
• Strong analytical skills
• A high degree of initiative and the ability to work independently
• Ability to learn and quickly adapt to new technologies
• Ability to solve complex technical problems in a time-critical manner, and be proficient in a number of web technologies and be able to quickly apply this knowledge
• A positive attitude and the ability to work with a team and accept professional critique of work
• Willingness to work collaboratively with a creative marketing team and to establish productive relationships with students, faculty, and staff
