Web Writer

Reporting to the Director of Web Strategy, the Web Writer is responsible for liaising with a variety of individuals within the organization to develop stories and content for the Lynn University web sites. The successful candidate will have experience writing for the web and a proven ability to communicate to web/multimedia audiences using clear and concise language.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Write and re-purpose content so it is optimized for the web, mobile or email platforms
- Write action-driven copy for email marketing and corresponding landing pages
- Develop and keep a schedule for maintaining site content
- Use web analytics to inform keyword selection and incorporate SEO strategies into copy
- Work with developers to measure the performance of copy with A/B or Multivariate tests
- Represent the web team in meetings concerning content
- Write copy for search engine marketing
- Stay current on new ideas, trends, techniques and writing styles for multimedia communication
- Assist social media team with maintenance of university social channels
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (English, Journalism or other Communication program preferred)
- 1-3 years of experience writing for the web or multimedia
- Outstanding writing, proofreading and editing skills
- Familiarity with AP Style
- Ability to understand and write for different audiences and understand their needs and motivations
- Ability to collaborate with other writers and internal clients
- Ability to work on multiple projects within tight deadlines, and prioritize tasks for each
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
- Experience with a content management system
- Experience with social media tools such as Twitter, Tumblr, Foursquare, Instagram.
- Basic knowledge of HTML (for text formatting, linking)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience with Google Website Optimizer or other page performance measurement tool preferred
- Bilingual (verbal/written) Spanish preferred
