Web Communications Assistant
at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, Arkansas
Duties: assists University Communications team with ensuring all website content related to the institution, its branding and marketing messages are maintained, updated, and evaluated for effectiveness and efficiency; assist web staff with detailed content audit(s) of the website; monitors, analyzes, and suggests enhancements to website content, organization, and presentation; develops content through writing and/or reviewing copy as well as selection/review of images; contributes ideas and feedback on current and future editorial content; makes posts and monitors official University social media accounts as needed, including live coverage of University events; works within the University content management system to implement content changes and additions; supports Communications staff as they work with departments to generate compelling site content and effective social media interactions and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Earned associate’s degree; bachelor’s degree preferred in Web Communications, Mass Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field with experience in public relations, branding and web content generation; demonstrated knowledge of and experience in Web communications including an understanding of content strategy, good design, accessibility, and effective web usability practices; working knowledge of basic HTML/CSS and content management system software, WordPress experience highly preferred; active on multiple social networks beyond Facebook; basic Photoshop photo editing skills; basic photography skills preferred.
