Overview
The Division of University Communications advocates for Montana State University by communicating MSU's story from its heritage to its future. The mission is to enhance MSU's public image, increase the public's awareness of MSU's accomplishments, and develop consistent communications that continue to enhance the University's reputation.

The Division supports and promotes MSU's activities through expert and creative communications by providing a wide range of services to the university community through its operational units: MSU News Service, MSU Creative Services, MSU Web Communications, University Marketing, MSU Public Relations and University Printing. Additionally, the division includes KUSM-TV. KUSM-TV, in partnership with KUFM-TV at the University of Montana, Missoula, makeup MontanaPBS, an independent public media organization licensed to the Montana University System and serving the entire state of Montana. The staff includes approximately 60 personnel that include: media specialists, writers, editors, marketing specialists, graphic designers, photographers, broadcast media specialists, publications specialists, marketing specialists, Web programmers and printers.


Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Web Communications, this position will assist in the support and training services for Web communications initiatives primarily focused on the Web content management system (WCMS) enterprise application for Montana State University. Duties include: providing content management and Web development training, support, and development to students, faculty, and staff; creating documentation and tutorials to support personnel working on Web communications initiatives; providing technical support and development for the university’s Web communications and marketing applications and programs; performs other related duties as required.


Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web and Graphic Design, Communications, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Demonstrated experience working with HTML, CSS, and related Web development languages (such as MySQL and PHP).
3. Demonstrated experience in effectively troubleshooting, supporting and/or developing Web services.
4. Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, and competence communicating information, procedures, and directions clearly and accurately, in person, by telephone, email, and through correspondence.
5. Demonstrated skill exercising good judgment, self-motivation, and working effectively both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience working with Web content management systems.
2. Experience developing and executing technical training.
