Colorado State University OnlinePlus seeks a proactive, knowledgeable strategist to serve as a Web Marketing Specialist in its Marketing Unit. The web marketing specialist is charged with researching, developing, analyzing, and optimizing web marketing strategies to promote high-quality, flexible educational opportunities for working professionals. This position plays a key role in carrying out the Division’s marketing strategy by leading and collaborating on web marketing projects aimed at building awareness and generating inquiries. Duties include research, analysis, and strategy development, landing page development and testing, search engine optimization, and web content optimization.

The selected applicant is diligent, analytical, and curious, with a strong desire to develop an in-depth understanding of our diverse program offerings and how to market them through the web in the context of our competitors, industry, and marketing goals and objectives. This individual must have a passion for excellence and continuous improvement and be inspired by new challenges and opportunities to create and strategize. She/he will bring focus and motivation to produce exceptional results and complete projects on tight deadlines with limited supervision and within an interdependent team environment.

Success in this position requires an individual with an ability to build strong relationships with different types of people, the ability to deal with different work styles, and a personality that can stay positive while working under pressure and who is flexible enough to juggle multiple projects and handle the unexpected.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally-accredited university in marketing, communications, business, management, computer science, or related field
• Minimum five (5) years of experience executing web marketing activities as a member of a marketing, web, or communications team
• Minimum three (3) years of SEO experience with proven track record of delivering results through ethical search engine optimization techniques, proven knowledge of best practices and search engine algorithms, and demonstrated experience conducting SEO site audits and providing and carrying out actionable recommendations
• Ability to think strategically across the web marketing cycle
• Broad experience with web analytics, metrics, and optimization tools, with a proven ability to use these tools to collect and analyze data, report on it, and apply it to marketing strategy development
• Proven experience building creative, effective conversion-focused landing pages, conducting A/B testing, analyzing results, and making adjustments to improve results
• Basic HTML skills and an understanding of web and web writing best practices
• Proficiency in Google Analytics, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Photoshop
• Outstanding analytical, research, and problem solving skills and incredible attention to detail
• Strong project management skills, ability to prioritize, meet tight deadlines, and handle multiple tasks and projects from start to finish with minimal supervision
• Excellent ability to effectively communicate technical information to audiences with varying levels of technical expertise
