Director of Digital & Social Media
at Suffolk University in Boston
The Director of Digital & Social Media is an enterprising and entrepreneurial individual who works as part of the digital and interactive team in the Office of Marketing & Communications (OMC) to promote and leverage Suffolk University’s digital content via the website, portals, blogs, social media and other channels. This position principally manages social media content with an emphasis on both strategy and analytics measuring ROI.
OMC works with departments across the University including advancement, enrollment, and student affairs, as well as academic departments within the three schools.
Requires:
A Master’s degree in Multimedia/Visual Communications, Communications, New Media, Marketing or related field preferred;
5-7 years of related professional experience developing and implementing effective online advocacy or branding campaigns via web and social media with some experience in higher education or nonprofit communications preferred;
Demonstrated experience with and enthusiasm for emerging technologies, new media, and social media applications;
Strong editorial judgment, preferably with experience writing and editing online news or marketing copy;
Understanding of marketing and brand messaging support
Strong analytical, technical and project management skills;
Creative thinking, versatility, ability to adapt in dynamic environment and take initiative;
Action-oriented, excellent organizational abilities, extremely detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and work under pressure;
Experience with web-based multimedia technologies and all aspects f web video and audio production including filming, editing and preparation for multi-channel web distribution preferred;
Experience/familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, etc.), HTML, CSS, Flash, Javascript, PHP;
Must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills, a positive, collegial attitude, a high level of professionalism, and the ability to work collaboratively in a close team structure;
Keen sense of humor is essential.
