Web Writer Editor/Content Coordinator

Ithaca College seeks an experienced web professional to be responsible for the day-to-day management of the College’s Office of Admission website, portal-based recruitment environment (myIthaca), social media recruitment sites, and electronic marketing efforts directly related to undergraduate recruitment. This position will maintain existing sites and develop new content through creative writing and/or editing of copy, coordination of multimedia and inclusion of links, determination of navigation and information architecture, and proofreading and testing of all content. Other responsibilities include coordinating web marketing activities with other recruitment marketing strategies; directing and guiding student workers to create content for recruitment-related sites, online magazines, blogs, and social media networks; and managing College-owned, recruitment-related, social media communities, including IC Peers. This position is also charged with keeping abreast of social media market trends and technologies for higher education recruitment, keeping informed about best practices in recruitment web marketing, and assisting with measurement of site traffic and other web analytics.
The successful candidate will need a bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, copywriting, or marketing and a minimum of three years of relevant work experience. This position requires a demonstrated experience with web content management and social media technologies; familiarity with The Chicago Manual of Style, strong interpersonal and communication skills, experience writing and editing for web publications, experience working with content management systems, and demonstrated knowledge of web production. The ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects is also necessary. Experience working or writing for an educational institution is strongly preferred.
