Marketing Writer Specialist - Writer/Editor III (UCP V)

Job Summary: The University of Connecticut is seeking an experienced Marketing Writer Specialist to provide advanced level writing and editing for a wide range of publications, websites and social media platforms. The successful candidate will be expected to exercise originality, creativity and to regularly develop his/her own ideas within broad guidelines established by the supervisor. Work is varied and requires a sound understanding of subject and target audience. Work will include writing for social media platforms, websites, printed material and video scripts.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience; 2 -4 years’ marketing writing experience; advanced writing and grammatical skills, as demonstrated by writing samples; writing ability suitable for websites, social media, print materials, radio and video will be required; ability to meet deadlines, take initiative and work independently to carry out difficult assignments; advanced communication and interpersonal skills; basic knowledge of graphic design and awareness of graphic needs to complement content and platform.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated understanding of social media for marketing awareness and engagement; demonstrated understanding of analytics to inform decision making.
Appointment Terms: This is a full-time position.
Candidates selected for an interview will be required to complete a brief writing assignment during their interview.
