Web Content Coordinator
at Orange County Community College in New York
Orange County Community College is located in Middletown, NY approximately 60 miles North of NYC and 90 miles South of Albany.
FT - 12 Month Position
The Web Content Coordinator will play a significant role in maintaining and building the College’s overall web identity, including managing a strategic web editorial program as set forth by the Vice President of Institutional Advancement. The Web Content Coordinator’s (WCC) primary web site focus will center on information content, site currency and visual design including creating, editing and or/approving content provided by or on behalf of other campus personnel. Other responsibilities will include oversight of the College’s social networking communication strategy and assistance with internal communication efforts. It will be the responsibility of the WCC to keep abreast of current trends/advancements in technology. The ideal candidate will possess excellent writing and editing skills and have a keen eye for compelling visual design. This position reports to the Director of Communications.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree and three years experience in content management, design and oversight of web communications. The successful candidate must exhibit a proficiency in using Adobe/Macromedia creative tools and other industry standard programs.
Preferred:
Master’s degree in a related field. A familiarity with web content management systems; a working knowledge of Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash software programs; an ability to analyze web traffic data; familiarity with social networking platforms; knowledge of web accessibility standards; and an understanding of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). Preference will be given to those who have a demonstrated knowledge of web communications in a higher education setting, proven project management skills and an ability to work well with a wide variety of constituents. Bilingual skills.
