Associate Director of Online Content
at Ohio Northern University in Ada, OH
Reports to: Director of Communications & Marketing
Scope: The Associate Director for Online Content will be a highly skilled professional charged with assisting in the development of an outstanding, dynamic web site presence for the University that will work to raise the visibility of the University’s reputation of academic excellence to a global audience.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Communications & Marketing, the Associate Director for Online Content will be part of a strategic marketing team and have primary responsibility for organizing and writing content for the University's website.
Principle Responsibilities: •Develop and manage content for electronic communications and new media projects
•Edit, proofread and post graphics and multimedia content to the website
•Train campus web administrators and others to implement best practices in web writing, marketing and content development
•Work in a team setting to create messages effective for web marketing strategies and initiatives
•Manage a site that will help increase awareness of the University's reputation of academic excellence to a global audience

Required Skills
•Outstanding web writing, content editing, management and visual skills
•Exemplary commitment to quality
•Excellent analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills
•Knowledge of web marketing and evaluations
•Extensive work with various social media outlets
Required Qualifications
•Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, English and/or Communications & Marketing Technology
•Four years of previous experience in a public relations, marketing or communications setting
•Experience in multimedia design and web page creation
•Experience working within a content management system
•Some experience with hand coding HTML
•Experience troubleshooting basic computer issues using the Macintosh Operating System
•Experience developing and writing text for audio, video and new media forms
Preferred Qualifications
•Experience in higher education web services, marketing or online communications
•Experience with the Drupal content management system
Physical Requirements
•Frequently sit, stand, stoop and walk
•Occasionally travel on day trips
•Occasionally lift or carry loads up to 25 pounds
•Frequently reach repeatedly in any direction
•Frequently utilize good hearing, good near or distant vision, good depth perception and good discernment between colors
