The Communications Coordinator develops and drives innovative communications strategies for the Department of Student Affairs, with a particular focus on delivering essential admissions and financial aid information to prospective students, families and school counselors. This position, within the Marketing and Communication Services team, ensures that systemwide recruitment and outreach communications are integrated with the university's broader brand message and marketing goals. Working closely with department and Communications colleagues, this position advances the story of the university's work in these subject areas through a wide range of digital and print vehicles, managing projects from inception to delivery on time and within budget.

Requirements:
• Graduation from college with a major in marketing, journalism, communications or allied field, and professional writing ability demonstrated by at least five years of professional writing experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated experience with developing and executing marketing or communications strategies, including surveying the competitive landscape, creating communications plans, leading project teams and effectively managing client relations to support timely decision-making.
• Demonstrated experience in a variety of writing styles, including web writing, copywriting, journalism and/or persuasive writing. Skills should include ability to write clear, bright and engaging copy in a tone appropriate to targeted audiences; strong interviewing and information-gathering skills; and crisp and thoughtful editing.
• Demonstrated knowledge of web content strategy and best practices for maintaining compelling content over time.
