full time RESEARCH PROGRAM MANAGER - Center for Engineering Education and Outreach

at Tufts University - Medford in Boston

This is a grant funded, limited-appointment position and is not eligible for severance pay.

The Center for Engineering Education and Outreach (CEEO) seeks an individual with excellent communication skills to lead the educational and product research efforts as part of the CEEO’s strategy to support K-College engineering education. The candidates primary responsibilities will be to coordinate the research efforts of the CEEO’s numerous NSF and other research grants, seek new research grant opportunities, as well as mentor Tufts graduate students in the Math, Science, Technology, and Engineering Education Master’s and doctoral program.

The Research Program Manager will:

Coordinate research efforts requiring experience in:

1. Educational research methods (qualitative and quantitative) 2. General engineering 3. Computer programming (LabVIEW, RoboLab) 4. Management and communication

Assist Tufts graduate students in pursuing their research and product development at the Center by:

1. Assisting them in designing and conducting educational research experiment 2. Running periodic classes for members of the Center covering topics such as grant-writing educational research methods, IRB compliance, and research in education 3. Assisting them in disseminating research findings in conference and journal publications 4. Assisting other CEEO staff and students in development educational tools and products based on educational research

Job Requirements

Basic Requirements:

* Minimum of PhD in engineering education or related field * Minimum of two (2) years of experience conducting educational research * Microsoft Office * A strong background in educational research, engineering and basic sciences is a must * Must be an excellent communicator (written and oral) and an effective Leader * Must have a high level of creativity and originality * Must be team focused * Must be able to lift 50lbs. * Must be able to travel to both Domestic and International destinations

Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience with Labview and Robolab software is a plus.
