Duties: The Office of Public Affairs at the State University of New York at New Paltz seeks an experienced, creative, detail-oriented, self-motivated Web Developer to help create, maintain and further enhance the college’s main Web site and overall online presence, with the ability to simplify and clearly present detailed information. The developer manages content and routine updates, makes and implements recommendations to improve the college's online presence, assists with social media efforts, designs visually appealing graphics for new sites and features, utilizes project management software, analyze Web statistics to make appropriate improvements, assists with portal management, supports the content management system and its users, and implements marketing campaigns and other strategies. This position will be a key in redesigning the college’s main site, www.newpaltz.edu, in the coming year.
Qualifications: Skills required:
- HTML/XHTML/CSS
- Excellent verbal and written (especially for online platform) communication skills
- Detail-oriented & creative
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, work independently as well as in team environments, provide superior customer service to all clients across the university.
Skills desired:
- strong graphic design for the Web (including advanced knowledge of Photoshop)
- CMS training and management (OmniUpdate preferred)
- Mac & PC platforms
- JavaScript, jQuery
- Web accessibility standards
- Video and audio editing
- Experience using social media in business settings
Other requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Two or more years of work experience producing Web sites
Salary range: $45-50,000
