LIBRARY ASSISTANT III - Tisch Library

This position's schedule is Sunday - Thursday 9:45 - 5:45, with a possibility of flexibility in this schedule.
The Access Services department supports the academic and research needs of AS&E faculty, staff and students by providing access to the circulating and course reserve collections of the Tisch Library; stack maintenance to facilitate access to materials; sharing Tisch Library resources with Boston Library Consortium member institutions through the Virtual Catalog; verifying and processing fines/replacements for overdue/lost library material and responding to customer inquiries including problem resolution.
The Library Assistant III will process course Reserves and billing within established policy; customer service desk support including cross-training Circulation staff in Reserve processsing; supervise & train student assistants; respond to patron inquiries; identify problems; open/close facility as needed; oversee all activities of Circulation/Reserve/Discharge service points within Library policy guidelines when providing support to this area.
Job Requirements
Basic Requirements: Bachelor's degree OR 3+ years of experience in a customer service environment; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail; ability to work independently, multi-task and work with frequent deadlines; experience with office software including spreadsheets applications for statistics; ability/desire to learn online Integrated Library System.
Preferred Qualifications: 1-2 years experience in a busy customer service setting; experience with academic course reserve; proficient with Windows / Microsoft Office.
Special Work Schedule Requirements: Schedule is Sunday - Thursday 9:45 - 5:45, with a possibility of flexibility in this schedule. Work schedule changes intersession/summers. Work schedule may change during staff shortages. Schedule is based on the needs of the Library and the Access Services Department and is subject to change.
