Communications Specialist - Web Design

Missouri S&T seeks a creative and experienced web design professional. The ideal candidate for this position will have strong graphic design skills, some technical experience, a creative eye, and a keen interest in today's social media, web and electronic trends and technologies.
Primary responsibilities include the creation and development of online visual identity and multimedia presentations to support Missouri S&T's digital initiatives. Successful candidate will also participate in the overall enhancement and development of Missouri S&T's web and electronic presence, including designing and implementing specialized interactive sites such as virtual tours.
This position interacts with content authors, editors, project managers, and technology staff in designing, developing and maintaining high quality electronic products such as websites, electronic documents, and digital media. Experience in electronic e-mail campaigns that include design, writing, production and implementation, are desired.
The position will assist with monitoring and evaluation of comprehensive tracking reports that will guide the development and enhancements of the University's digital initiatives. Position may also assist with the delivery of relevant information from tacking reports to internal and external audiences.
The successful candidate will be able to plan, develop, and execute a concept from start to finish, have strong interpersonal communications skills, and be able to work both independently and as part of a dynamic team.
Minimum Qualifications
The position requires a bachelor's degree in a related field (or education and experience from which comparable knowledge can be obtained) and a minimum of four years experience in web design and development, including digital multimedia presentations. Proven experience in professional web design and development and expert working knowledge of Flash, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and Illustrator is required. Relevant multimedia and/or web design/development project experience is also required.
Excellent and demonstrated communication, analytical, problem solving and organizational skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional skill sets in navigation and architecture, writing for the web and social media, videotaping, production and editing; experience with Final Cut Pro, After Effects (or similar software); photography and print graphic design are also desired.
