Information Technology Specialist II

Full-time, Classified, Exempt (Position #00045)
Longwood University seeks qualified applicants for a Web Developer. This position will plan, develop, and maintain web sites and services including interactive web applications, interfaces, and relational databases for Longwood’s marketing-oriented micro site, the official Longwood University web site, and other web sites developed or maintained by the Public Relations department.
Longwood University, founded in 1839 and nestled in the heart of Virginia (60 miles west of Richmond), is a coeducational public institution.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Analysis, design, coding and implementation of web applications.
-Partner with web team members on implementing and enhancing our content management system, RedDot (now Open Text Web Solutions).
-Design and development of web sites and interactive features.
-Contribute to a wide range of web projects and tasks as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
-Working knowledge of XHTML, CSS, XML, ASP/.NET/PHP, JavaScript, Flash ActionScript, Relational Databases, Adobe software products, and web content management systems.
-Familiarity with RedDot (Open Text) and both PC and Mac computers a plus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
-High School diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Candidate must demonstrate significant experience in web development.
Pay Band 5, has a minimum starting salary of $40,959 with exceptional Commonwealth of Virginia benefits.
