Associate Vice President for Admission and Financial Aid (Hiram College)

Hiram College invites applications for the position of Associate Vice President (AVP) for Admission & Financial Aid. Reporting to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement, the AVP has the overall responsibility for the direction and management of the offices of Admission and Financial Aid. The AVP is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive and strategic recruitment plan. Effectiveness is measured in the recruitment and admission of increased numbers of carefully selected and diverse traditionally aged students who demonstrate high academic achievement, strong leadership capability, and an affinity for a high-quality, liberal arts education. The AVP supervises and works closely with the Director of Admission and the Director of Financial Aid to develop strategic and operational plans to identify, cultivate, and enroll students who are a good fit for Hiram’s nationally respected liberal arts environment. The AVP works as part of an integrated advancement division that includes athletics, alumni, development, communications & marketing.
Preferred candidates should have a minimum of seven years of progressive responsibility in admission, preferably at a liberal arts college. Previous leadership experience is also desirable. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree (advanced degree is preferred). The successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of enrollment management practices, recruitment/admission strategies, financial aid, electronic and web based recruitment strategies, and marketing practices as they relate to the recruitment of prospective students. Strong management and budget experience as well as excellent leadership and communication skills are necessary.
The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
