Web Developer
at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin
Carthage College is looking for a web developer to build cool stuff, mainly in Django, a Python-based framework, and also in ColdFusion. We're committed to doing things right. We do a lot and we manage to have fun doing it. We're a small team and we have our hands in just about everything on the college's site. More often than not we build what we need (https://www.carthage.edu/admissions/), but as situations warrant we will use open source projects (http://www.carthage.edu/augustine) or commercial products (http://community.carthage.edu).
Carthage is a small liberal arts college that has been thriving in recent years. Enrollment is approximately 3,000 students, awesome new faculty are being hired, new buildings are being built. The campus is gorgeous, right on Lake Michigan between Chicago and Milwaukee. The Web Communications team has the support we need from the powers-that-be to do the things we need to do, and we are able to maintain a wide-open, bureaucracy-free space within the organization. Increasing expectations and an appreciation for the value of what we do are both abundant.
If you're interested in becoming a part of a team that is going places, take a look at the job description at http://www.carthage.edu/careers/webdeveloper and send me your resume via email by July 31, 2008.
