Front End Developer
Description:
This position specializes in clean, standards-compliant, accessbile x/html, CSS and Javascript. Maintenance/enhancement of existing site and creation of subsites are the primary responsibility of this position. Ideal candidate will work well in a team-oriented, deadline-driven environment, will be able to quickly familiarize themselves with Norwich’s primary web presence, and will be able to problem solve and work independently.
Requirements:
• Previous development experience and portfolio
• Ability to hand-code semantic, efficient, standards-compliant X/HTML markup and CSS
• Familiar with Javascript, DOM scripting
• Familiar with principles of separation of presentation, content, and interaction and progressive enhancement.
• Ability to achieve cross-browser compatibility
• Solid understanding of web design, accessibility, usability, search engine optimization and information architecture
• Solid foundation in use of Adobe Creative Suite and basic graphic design principles
• Comfortable with Mac environment
• Strong communications skills including detailed documentation writing/code commenting, confident face-to-face communication ability, and concise written (email) communication
In addition, knowledge of WordPress as a CMS, jQuery library, usability testing, Google Analytics, php, and ajax is a plus.
