Coordinator of Social Media & Digital Production

BASIC FUNCTION:
This position is primarily responsible for coordinating social media strategies and interactions along with the creation of multimedia and interactive content for the purpose of broadening and enhancing the image of Salve Regina locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. The position requires experience in digital design projects including an understanding of website analytics and analysis. In conjunction with other members of the web communications team, this position will collaborate with various campus offices and departments on creative design projects for www.salve.edu and in social media to showcase recruit and retain students, faculty and staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create and/or coordinate engaging multimedia and social media content including promotional, fundraising, news, and educational videos; photo galleries; podcasts; and interactive websites, blogs and micro-sites.
Serve as a liaison and consult with individuals or groups of students, faculty and staff to identify, develop and implement departmental electronic marketing and communication needs for www.salve.edu and in social media.
Oversee and further develop Salve Regina’s iTunes U site and Podcast Producer/FCS program.
Participate in weekly office meetings and with other members of the staff to present new concepts or contribute to group projects and initiatives.
Oversee and manage video/multimedia content production of materials to be utilized on web sites, in social media and accessible via iTunes U or similar.
Measure the impact of social media and multimedia content on the overall marketing strategy of the University and analyze data and generate reports on website activity using web analytic programs to assist the Director by identifying problems, opportunities and priorities.
Support online content and website changes using content management tools as needed.
Apply and enhance practices, policies and guidelines in social media as used by the staff, faculty and students of the University.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Apply a working knowledge of video recording and editing techniques to support initiatives for publication online and for archival use.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor\'s degree in communications, interactive design or related field. 2-4 years experience in digital video production and preferred minimum of 3 years experience with all forms of digital marketing including web, mobile, and social media.
Good working knowledge of content management systems; experience using hand-coded HTML, DreamWeaver, Final Cut video editing software and Adobe Creative Suite with ability to pick up new technologies quickly.
Current with search engine and social media best practices and processes.
Strong analytical skills combined with experience in forecasting and translating website analytics.
Ability to work collaboratively and independently managing multiple projects and at times tight deadlines.
Must be a self-starter with strong oral and written communication skills and able to analyze problems and come up with innovative solutions.
Willing to collaborate with a team environment and to adopt and develop best practices for marketing technology.
Computer proficiency on both Macintosh and PC platforms required.
Valid driver’s license required.
