Web/Drupal Developer
at Penn State in University Park, PA
Web developers seeking the freedom to innovate; incredible coders who want to work on interesting projects with a bunch of smart people; stalwart programmers willing to risk failure: these are the types of folks who thrive in Outreach Marketing. Our Web Strategy and User Experience team has an opening.
The ideal candidate would have extensive experience with Drupal and Wordpress, a solid background in PHP and SQL, and be comfortable with administration of LAMP servers. However, we're not picky about which languages or development environments you've been using, only that you have mastered them in depth, and can master whatever technology that we need in the future. So anyone with hardcore database, server-side web programming, and HTML/CSS skills should be able to hit the ground running.
Experience with JIRA, Mercurial, Jenkins, and Varnish are a plus.
Just like anywhere else in a University, you need to be comfortable handling several projects at once, willing to learn and master new skills, and act responsibly with FERPA data.
Primary duties include:
- user interface and content management coding for our web team
- Web-to-CRM interface coding
- general programming support for the ongoing rollout of enterprise-level systems (including Talisma CRM, Business Intelligence, and Destiny OneCE)
This job will be filled as a level 2, level 3, or level 4, depending upon the successful candidate's education and experience. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher levels.
Competencies critical to success are:
- proven ability to plan and meet deadlines
- demonstrated successful experience in a team environment
- a commitment to life-long learning
We seek candidates who are able to demonstrate experience and ability to advance Penn State Outreach's diversity initiative.
Electronically submit a cover letter, salary requirements and resume at www.psu.jobs or mail to Recruitment & Compensation Division, Job #: U-35212, The Pennsylvania State University, Fifth Floor, James M. Elliott Building, University Park, PA 16802 or fax to 814-865-3750.
Penn State is committed to affirmative action, equal opportunity and the diversity of its workforce.
