Summary:
Advances Library and Technology services by developing innovative client-centered technology solutions using Web tools, social networking, virtual services (e.g., chat, remote services), mobile technologies, Web 2.0 applications, and beyond; Participates in design, management, and support of CMS-based Web services. Provides instruction and support in managing CMS-based and Dreamweaver-based Web services. Provide consultation to students, faculty, staff and other users of LTS services.

Accountabilities:

1. Designs, develops, and supports Web services as well as new/emerging technologies. * Plans, designs, and implements Web services using standard coding languages (HTML, XHTML, CSS), Web design software (Dreamweaver), scripting (JavaScript, PHP), content management tools, graphics/multimedia (Macromedia/Adobe Fireworks, Flash), etc. * Carrys out web application development projects from conceptualization to launch * Customizes the CMS user interface and add to CMS functionality using standard features or PhP, CSS/HTML, and add-on modules * Ensures Web services conform to national/international Web standards and Lehigh’s approved templates/themes * Manages all aspects of website development * Ensures the overall visual identity practices in accordance with university policy * Provides Web development and site management support for faculty, staff, and students 2. Serves as one of a core group of campus specialists in Web development, social media/mobile technologies, cloud services, and emerging technologies * Delivers LTS and Lehigh content through social media, mobile apps, and other software * Participates in the review and testing of new/emerging technologies and applications * Experiments with new technology tools that support the LTS strategic plan and mission * Participates in developing policies and best practices in utilizing social media * Evaluates cloud computing applications to support mobile, collaborative work on campus; supports applications adopted by the campus * Investigates and recomends social bookmarking and other media tools to support scholarly/student research 3. Participates in planning, management, and evaluating a broad range of library and technology initiatives, particularly help desk servivces. Provides help desk services and supports co-workers when specialized assistance is needed. * Provides in-depth specialized assistance at the help desk * Provides specialized information technology and/or library consultation and assistance * Assists clients with questions about the full range of LTS services * Documents client interactions via the trouble ticket system and through statistics collection and reporting 4. Learn new skills and knowledge that are needed to meet the expectations for this position * Participates in regional and national organizations as appropriate * Evaluate, learn and support new information technology services * Participate in ongoing professional development as appropriate 5. Participate in planning and delivering instructional programs for faculty, students and staff in computing and information technology * Create Web-based instructional tools in a variety of formats to meet different learning style preferences * Offer campus and departmental seminars * Assist in developing new approaches to instruction and learning that meet the needs of the Lehigh community

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computing or Information Science desired or equivalent combination of education and experience; Master’s degree preferred 2. Three to five years related work experience 3. Web page creation and editing experience with content management systems such as Drupal or Plone and standalone software applications such as Dreamweaver. 4. Experience with relational databases such as Microsoft Access, MySQL, Oracle. 5. Working knowledge of scripting/programming languages such as PhP, Java, Perl, Python and/or Coldfusion, Javascript, etc. 6. Knowledge of standard office software, graphics and video/multimedia software. 7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 8. Solid analytical, decision making and problem solving skills 9. Successful completion of standard background checks including but not limited to: social security verification, education verification, national criminal background checks, motor vehicle checks and credit history based upon the requirements of the position

Special Considerations:

1. One weekday eveninig shift every other week; six weekend shifts every semester 2. Along with completing an employment application for this position, applicants are required to upload a resume and cover letter.
