Basic Function: Manages Guilford College's main website and collaborates on web-based projects for college initiatives.
Specific Responsiblity:
Develop and maintain pages in the College's main website and intranet
- Refresh and maintain the home page and other top level pages
- Prioritize content support for areas directly impacting student recruitment and philanthropy
- Coordinate the work of contracted support for web back-end support and content development
- Project-manage software upgrades and other site improvements
- Educate content contributors on editorial and graphic style
- Train content contributors on content management system
- Ensure that the website promotes the College's brand and positioning
Manage various online initiatives
- Implement the integration of new third-party applications into the College's site
- Integrate social media with the main website to promote an interactive experience for key audiences
- Research, recommend and implement other online initiatives that support the college's marketing focus on recruitment and philanthropy
- Develop video, photography and other elements that improve main website content
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in communications, information technology, marketing or related field.
Skills:
- Three or more years professional experience in website management
- Proficiency in HTML and Adobe CS
- Experience with content management systems (WordPress preferred)
- Experience with project management and working as part of a development team
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, attention to detail and willingness to learn new skills
- Demonstrated organizational abilities and good interpersonal skills for ?customer? relations
- Ability to address the varied needs of a higher education community
- Familiarity with search engine optimization and usability testing
- Understanding of social media
