Website and Photo Manager
at Mount Mary College in Milwaukee
Mount Mary College is currently seeking an individual to contribute to the realization of our mission through the role of Web site and Photo Manager. This is a part-time (50 percent), 12-month position requiring an on-campus office. The position’s primary tasks are to maintain and enhance the college Web site while supporting the Marketing/Public Relations Office with visual items such as photography.
Responsibilities will include:
Write and edit compelling, accurate, and information-rich Web site content
Make timely edits to the college Web site including writing, photography, implementation and navigation
Design page layouts and enhance pages with graphics and/or photography
Work with academic departments to enhance Web presence
Specialize in overall content of site and understanding how all the information connects
Support college’s Internet presence through search engine optimization (SEO)
Place college Web site and information on pertinent resource listings such as college search sites
Track the effectiveness of Internet marketing campaigns
Research new and creative ways to market the college website
Keep up with emerging Web technologies and work actively with external and internal resources in order to leverage a practical and pragmatic understanding of how and when to apply them
Monitor, research, and refine college Web site in an effort to keep the site user-friendly
Troubleshoot and test new Web pages
Manage and support the Marketing/Public Relations Office photo file (4000 images)
Catalog and key code all new photography into photo management software (Extensis Portfolio)
Serve as campus photographer as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, or journalism
Proven proficiency with MS Office, Adobe CS3, and HTML editing software (Dreamweaver) or a strong ability to hand code. This position does not require extensive IT training or high-level IT skills.
Energetic, self-motivated individual with a passion for technology and the written word
Experience in multimedia (Flash, streaming audio and video) a plus
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines
Posses a keen eye for detail
Be a cooperative team player with the ability to work independently
Possess strong business ethics, be reliable and dependable
Excellent communication skills (e-mail and telephone)
