full time Web Content Specialist

at The Sage Colleges in Troy, New York

The Sage Colleges seek a Web Content Specialist who will work with Sage’s Communications and Public Relations team to repurpose and develop content for Sage’s website, www.sage.edu; work with faculty & staff to maintain and enhance web content; and support Sage’s online presence and communications to support key enrollment, marketing and advancement goals. This full-time administrative position is supervised by the Director of Web Strategies and reports to the Senior Director of Communications & Marketing. This position will create, proofread, edit and manage content including copy, photography and multimedia that furthers the College’s goals while meeting high standards for accuracy, branding consistency, and usability.

Responsibilities include:

» Write and edit compelling, accurate, and information-rich web content
» Make timely edits to the colleges’ website including copy, photography, and multimedia to ensure consistency, accuracy, readability and appropriateness of style
» Enhance the colleges’ current web presence through the use of appealing photography and multimedia
» Work closely with the colleges’ academic departments to research, develop, write, maintain and enhance their web presence
» Provide support to the colleges’ departmental liaisons in the areas of web content development and maintenance
» Work with the Communications and Public Relations team to integrate print, web, mobile and social media strategies to enrich the user experience

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or related field; three to five years of professional experience in providing content for web or traditional media. Experience with content management systems, image editing/creation applications, and video production and editing software is preferred. Work experience in a higher education environment a plus.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills; the ability to effectively organize, prioritize and manage a high-volume of assignments, with frequent interruptions, to complete projects within timelines; be a cooperative team player with the ability to work independently; and understand how to engage diverse audiences on our website, from successful information gathering to active engagement and action within web, video, email and social media platforms.
