Web Technical Developer
Department: Information Technology

Overview:
Assist in the maintenance and evolution of the College's web sites, both internet and intranet, by creating custom web applications and web parts.

Reports to:
Director of Web Architecture, Design & Services

Essential Duties:
1. Implement technical architecture of the College web sites, including scripting, creating and maintaining custom internet and intranet web applicants and web parts.
2. Assist the IT team with integrating new technologies into the web sites. Provide web technical support to the web team and to other members of the community as needed.
3. Remain current on new technology and emerging industry trends. Bring new ideas, best practices, and creative solutions forward in order to improve upon the user experience and our overall web presence.
4. Verify the security of all College web sites (external, public-facing, and intranet), and work with the Information Security Officer to ensure best practices for developing web sites in a secure fashion.
5. Recommend web technologies and technical strategies for all College web sites. Keep up with emerging web technologies both on the server-side and the client-side (e.g. jQuery, ASP.NET, etc.) Conduct the technical, hands-on work required to continually evolve the College web sites and keep pace with new developments both on the web and the client end.

Marginal Duties:
1. Perform all other duties as may be required.

Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's Degree in computer science from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three years' experience developing and maintaining a large, multi-page Internet web site in a fast-changing environment. Demonstrable knowledge of web-related technologies including XHTML, CSS, ASP.NET, PHP, ASP, Javascript, JQuery, and SQL. Signficant experience and/or training in application development methodologies. Demonstrated commitment to excellence, initiative, and ownership of projects.
