Are you technical savvy with an eye for design? Is it difficult to separate you from your laptop, iPad, and iPhone? Longwood University invites all passionate, jack-of-all-trades web gurus to apply for the Web Designer / Developer position in the Public Relations / Web Communications Office. This position will be responsible for planning, developing, and maintaining websites, applications and other web marketing initiatives, working closely with the rest of the web team on a wide variety of projects. Position will report to the Director of Web Communications in Public Relations.
REQUIREMENTS AND EDUCATION:
*Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training and experience *Experience in web design and development *Strong portfolio showcasing both an eye for design and technical skills *Knowledge of the latest web 2.0 technologies and services *Working knowledge of XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Adobe software products, i.e. Dreamweaver *Experience with Flash, ASP, PHP, relational databases, CMS systems, social media, project management, and both PC and Macs is a plus *Must demonstrate initiative, forward thinking, the ability to conceptualize new and creative ideas, set and achieve goals, and learn and become proficient in new technologies as needed *Work well both independently and in a team environment *Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Pay Band 5, minimum starting salary of $40,959 with exceptional Commonwealth of Virginia benefits. A successful criminal background check is required. Review of applications will begin immediately. Position will be posted a minimum of five days.
