Senior Web Developer position with Information Technology Services (its.uark.edu) at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.

Senior Web Developer duties:
Maintains and develops the IT Services web presence, bringing new ideas, best practices and creative solutions forward to improve the user experience. Meets current and evolving web and accessibility standards. Establishes and follows styles and hierarchies with a high degree of attention to detail. Creates and maintains custom forms and applications within a branded user interface and with a high standard for usability. Conducts research and implements feedback mechanisms to monitor usability and user satisfaction of the IT Services web presence.

Works with programmers from other IT Services work groups to develop branded user interfaces for web applications that maintain a high standard of usability across platforms and browsers.

Maintains avid attention to and implementation of new technology and emerging industry trends, particularly within higher education, actively participating in and understanding online culture. Keeps hardware and software up-to-date. Seeks continued professional development opportunities. Participates in IT Services and campus-wide web development discussions and stays current with university web guidelines and requirements. Provides limited web development user support. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
B.A. in computer science, mathematics, or fine arts with five years of web development experience, including forms and web applications. Ability to work in a fast-paced academic environment, respond to issues as they arise, and manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Excellent written and oral communication skills. High level of expertise with CSS and evidence of a strong user interface and graphic design background. Proficient with HTML, XHTML, PHP, MySQL. Ability to grasp and work with new languages. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and experience or familiarity with Javascript, JQuery, and/or AJAX.
