full time Digital Marketing Specialist

at Mizzou Online | University of MIssouri Online & Distance Education in Columbia, Missouri

On behalf of the University of Missouri’s online and distance education programs, develop effective online advertising and recruitment materials, including marketing strategies and plans with a deep understanding of consistent branding.

Approach with ingenuity all manner of online and distance student recruitment activities including online display advertisements, campaign landing pages, e-mail campaigns, electronic newsletters, Web-based video promotions, interactive forms and other digital marketing and communications activities.

Work closely with team members in the online and distance education administrative unit as well as key faculty and staff in schools, colleges and departments across campus.

Write persuasive web content for online advertising, conversion-centric landing pages and general program recruitment web pages.

Look for search engine optimization strategies wherever possible. Conduct keyword research and implement SEO and SEM best practices.

Compile information and prepare reports and other documentation for administrator/faculty review. Adjust/refine plans as needed.

Develop and submit budget requests for marketing activities, including estimated costs and project timelines.

Conduct industry research and stay current on best practices, competitor strategies and emerging technologies in online advertising and website design as well as online recruitment tactics.

Assist with content and design of other projects as necessary, including direct mail and broadcast advertising.

May develop communications plans to support non-marketing initiatives as identified by senior administration.

Assist with social media recruitment and retention efforts.


Salary

$38,500 – $50,200

Shift

8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (some nights/weekends)

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.

One to two years of general marketing experience, which includes designing and marketing programs, development of marketing communications (advertising and publicity), direct sales with a marketing emphasis; and/or desktop publishing.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with active server pages, web development and tools that simplify Web design and content, general information technology best practices.
