Communications Specialist - Graphic Design
Conceptualize and design key printed publications to support strategic university goals in areas like recruitment, alumni relations and development.
Consult with clients or supervisor on the planning, illustration, printing and viewing of arts layouts for publications and marketing materials.
Maintain an ongoing relationship with printing services to assure clients receive appropriate communication for printed projects.
Photography, photo editing.
Minimum Qualifications
Depending on area of specialization, a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Art, Graphic Design, or a related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
Depending on area of specialization, two to three years in journalistic and public relations activities is necessary.
Experience in writing and editing printed or electronic publications for academic or corporate communications, public information, or marketing; and experience with browser/server software, web publishing, and hypertext markup language is necessary.
Experience working in computer layout and design programs.
Preferred Qualifications
Extensive knowledge of graphic design programs including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Experience in Macintosh OS platform. Ability to turn around projects quickly and accurately. Organized approach to projects with sharp attention to detail. Photography experience and skills desirable. Work well with designers, writers, multimedia specialists and other communication professionals in a team environment.
