Reporting to the Executive Director of Strategic Communications, an experienced Director of Web Services is sought to direct the Office of Web Services, manage website operations, and assure alignment of website strategies with NJIT goals, mission, key messages, marketing, recruiting, branding strategies and all other strategic communications. The successful candidate will act as an agent for improvement and innovation.

The essential function of this position is website administration encompassing a broad array of services related to the implementation and management of the University website, including:

- Work with the Executive Director of Strategic Communications to develop and implement an integrated strategic communications plan in support of university’s strategic plan.

- Develop and oversee web strategy, web operations and implementation of current and long-term Web communications plans following the university's strategic plan.

- Develop plan of work and supervise a Web staff of seven. Develop business plan and annual budget for Web site functions. Develop Web site concept, interface design and overall architecture.

- Confer with site users and the IT department to develop changes in the University website, identifies new products which will permit greater efficiency and site integration, manages the design and building of web pages using a variety of graphics software applications, techniques and tools.

- Evaluate and analyze new procedures, equipment, or software to determine their utility and cost effectiveness for the department.

- Develop site architectural plans in the NJIT Web content management system (CMS), anticipates user and site growth, and oversees existing site migration into the CMS; identifies and supports application development of system. Analyzes short and long term implications of technological changes.

Prerequisite Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, communications or related communications field
-Minimum of ten years related experience

-Two years of experience in marketing and expertise in web site development, oversight, publishing, usability, and writing.

-Demonstrated experience with Web technologies and programming, with knowledge of web programming languages.
